What is psychology?

Psychology is the study of the study of the human soul, mind, or spirit.  In the scientific or social sciences fields it is seen as the study of the human mind and how it functions.  Psychologists look at factors which influence the way we think, feel and learn.  Evidence based-strategies and interventions are put in place to:

  • overcome psychological issues a person may have
  • develop strategies to manage difficulties within a person’s life

Some practitioners take a more holistic approach in treating persons with psychological issues.
